About the Evening Reporting Center
The Evening Reporting Center (ERC) — an alternative to juvenile detention — is operated by the Ogle County Probation Department, in collaboration with Focus House and the Ogle County Juvenile Justice Council. Although the ERC is located on the main campus of Focus House, it operates independently from the Focus House program.
The goal of the ERC is to provide youth with a structured environment through supervision, education, counseling and recreation. The outside services provided within the framework of the evening reporting program include tutoring and extensive counseling provided by contracted mental health experts. The mission of this program is to enhance the social and educational skills of minors so they can have productive lives, without further intervention through the Ogle County Probation Department.
In the summer of 2004, the ERC moved into a new classroom building, a renovated modular structure purchased from the Rochelle School District.
Ogle County's Evening Reporting Center program is the result of generous support and guidance from the following partners and organizations:
The Annie E. Casey Foundation
The Illinois Department of Human Services
The Administrative Office of Illinois Courts
The Illinois Juvenile Justice Commission
The Youth Network Council
The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority
Illinois Probation and Court Services Association
The Circuit Court of Cook County
The 15th Circuit Juvenile Justice Council
The Ogle County Juvenile Justice Council
